It has been too long since I last updated! I have been in a very busy period for the past few weeks and now just about getting caught up. The good thing about being extra extra busy is that I am helping more and more people to get fit. And on that note (I'll cut straight to the chase) I am pleased to announce that on Wednesday of this week I managed to achieve my Fitness 10,000 goal!! On Monday, I totalled up the count so far - adding in the 2000 school children who I entertained with my own game called 'Bouncing Becky Says' at the Torch Relay celebrations at Loughborough University and the 300 people who participated in my mini-trampoline world record Bounce-athon event that very same day. That took me to 9,902 so I just needed 98 more people and sure enough I was leading a school Bounce-athon this week on behalf of Miller Homes in Bedford where there were 200 children taking part so I DID IT!!!
I am very pleased to have achieved my goal (with 2 weeks to spare!) and it proves that you can do anything when you put your mind to it! Thank you to all those who have helped me organise events, attended my classes or booked training sessions with me... you are all superstars and I enjoy working with each and every one of you!
Here's to a great London 2012 Olympics and I'm sure by the time I come back from volunteering at the Aquatics centre I shall have a new goal for me to work towards. Watch this space!

Would you like to help break a World Record?... Let's get bouncing!
Good afternoon! I hope you have all had a great week and have done lots of exercise and enjoyed the odd sunny days we've had this week. More to come next week apparently - fingers crossed!
This week has been another busy working week with lots of tough sessions for personal training clients in Loughborough. I was due to lead a Bounce-athon at Elizabeth Woodville Primary yesterday, however, the event had to be cancelled at last minute so I haven't added to my Fitness 10,000 count this week. I do need to get moving on this as there's only 2 months to reach my target!!
Yesterday, I met with Loughborough University to discuss plans for the World Record Attempt taking place as part of the University's Olympic Torch Relay celebrations. I must say, I am super excited about the event and we are due to officially launch it within the next few weeks. More info can be found here. I'm especially looking for people who own a mini-trampoline already and would either like to either come and bounce themselves or donate the trampoline to the event and help break the World Record for the most people bouncing at one time in one location. Please get in touch asap if you can help!
Next week is a fairly straight forward week again with personal training sessions, group classes and behind the scenes work on my new Online Personal Training service which will be launched next month. Find out more information here
That's all from me this week. I shall report back in a couple of weeks when I have added to my Fitness 10,000 count. I shall work hard to add at least 100 people over the next couple of weeks - promise!
Til next time, keep bouncing!

The sun is shining in Loughborough - time to get active!
Good afternoon! I hope you are having a great day and have had a very productive week so far. Today, the sun is shining and it's nice and warm outside so it's the perfect opportunity to get out in the fresh air and do some exercise. If the weather stays nice over the weekend you could go out for a cycle ride, a walk along the beach or local park. There's lots you can do to be active outdoors and even if the weather changes you can still be active indoors with a fitness DVD (such as my Bounce-Back into Shape DVD available on Amazon!).
This week, my personal training clients have impressed me with their progress and dedication to achieving their fitness and weight-loss goals. Great achievements such as 19 mile cycle rides, 4 mile runs, new eating plans, early morning sessions and much more. Well done to them all and long may it continue!
My week has been jam packed and next week shall be very similar. I have a new client starting on Monday, picking my Olympic Gamesmaker kit up on Wednesday in London and Friday is Elizabeth Woodville Primary School's Bounce-athon plus usual mix of PT clients and group classes.
Have a fab week everyone - enjoy the warm sunshine while it lasts!

Bouncing can help increase girls participation in sport
This week has been the usual mix of personal training clients and group sessions to keep me busy. I've also made great progress with writing content for the new Online Personal Training service that will shall launch next month. I've already had lots of interest from new customers who think it will be just what they are after to keep them on the road to success with their weight loss and fitness goals.
In the news this week, a report by the Women's Sport & Fitness Foundation suggests that schools aren't doing enough to engage girls in P.E. At my school the girls did mostly netball, gymnastics, rounders, hockey and cross country. I didn't mind because I was (and still am) very competitive so traditional sports were good for me. There were, however, many other girls who often skipped P.E - usually faking an injury or illness - because they didn't enjoy the competitive sports or perhaps didn't want to get wet in the rain or mess up their hair. I know that's not the right attitude but it's a fact of life that most teen girls don't want to be seen looking anything less than perfect at school, so perhaps schools need to start thinking outside the box and offering alternative activities to try to engage with their target participants. Zumba has proven popular in some schools and I believe my bouncing classes could have the same positive influence on participation levels. Bouncing provides a challenging total body workout that is suitable for all ages and abilities, it's really versatile and most importantly it's fun! I have developed my own Olympic-themed programme of sessions for my afterschool bounce clubs and now would like to extend this to P.E lessons. If you have any P.E coordinator contacts in the Loughborough/Leicestershire area then please do get in touch!
Finally, this week I have made the decision NOT to move to London this Summer after months of thinking I would set up onesixeight: fitness in the city. Due to not having found a replacement for me here in Loughborough and not wanting to let clients down, I decided that I want to stay in Loughborough and build on the success I've had over the past 2 years. I'm really happy with my decision and I know it's the right one for the moment. I shall still, however, be taking a short break in London to volunteer at the Olympics and Paralympics and I'll know more when they finally tell me my shifts!!
Make use of the bank holiday to fit an extra exercise session in - I shall be working so you can always book a personal training session if your gym is closed!
Have a good 4-day week and fingers crossed no more rain!

World Record Bounce-athon plans move forward
This week has been a super busy week (as always!) with lots of personal training sessions - bouncing and running - and some group classes too including a Rainbow Guides session earlier today which was great fun with 15 young girls. The Fitness 10,000 Challenge numbers haven't increased greatly this week. I did, however, have a meeting at Loughborough University to discuss the World Record Bounce-athon planned for July 3rd - the day of the Olympic Torch passing through the town and campus. We have decided to source 300 mini-trampolines (from where I'm not yet sure!) and sell tickets to the event and bouncers will get to take their trampoline home with them after the event - plus one of my Bounce-Back into Shape DVDs too! So next week, I shall be busy trying to source these trampolines, planning the event in more detail and spreading the word to local people. You can find out more information here.
Two new afterschool clubs start next week at Robert Bakewell Primary School and Redlands Primary in Sileby so they will be great fun, plus more personal training sessions and the regular Loughborough Bounce Class on Thursdays at Charnwood Golf Range 7pm. Book online here
Enjoy your week and remember to keep bouncing!

Client Success Stories in Loughborough this week!
This week has been a VERY busy one and perhaps more tiring than usual. I started my week with 2 days of filming new fitness videos for my new online personal training service which is due to be launched in June. After several hours of filming back to back fitness workouts I was shattered and that was just after day 1. I then had 3 back to back PT sessions to do and then thankfully an early night before I had to do the same again on Tuesday. All in all though, I enjoyed being in front of the camera and ticking this off my to-do list for the new project which aims to help hundreds of people nationwide get fit with my ongoing support. Tuesday, we completed filming and in the afternoon I started the new Sutton Bonington Primary School afterschool Bounce club with 15 excited children, followed by the Sutton Bonington Primary School staff Bounce Class with 15 excited teachers! Both classes went really well and will continue every week now during term time.
The rest of the week has been filled with lots of personal training sessions with some new clients. Current PT clients have been seeing fantastic results as they enter in to their 2nd 6-week training programme. Some have also adopted new food plans with my help and have seen impressive weight and fat-loss. I'm really proud of all my clients who stick to their training programmes and food plans and it's those clients that see the best results. It also really makes me happy that I can offer them the advice that will help them achieve their results and be there to see the smiles on their faces when they achieve their goals. Long may the success stories continue!
I continue to work tomorrow, Saturday, with clients and meet potential clients who need my help. I am also working hard on a variety of different articles as content for the new online PT service. If there is a specific fitness or food topic you would like me to write about then please contact me and I shall do my best to cover it.
Next week will be similar to this week - lots of personal training, Bounce classes and a very important meeting to discuss the Bouncing World Record Attempt happening on 3rd July in Loughborough. I shall also continue my marathon training, which is so far going really well, by watching the London Marathon on Sunday and being inspired to run my longest run to date 16 miles later that afternoon.
Enjoy your week and let's hope the weather cheers up so we can get bouncing outside!

Bouncing Becky to organise World Record Breaking Olympic Bounce-athon
Good evening, all. I'm back from Kids Camp & suprisingly not too tired! I think a sensible daily routine of early morning run, kids camp and 8 hours sleep each night combined with a healthy diet helped me stay on top form for the 2 weeks. 100 children added to my Fitness 10,000 Challenge later and I'm glad to be back in the world of onesixeight: fitness.
Next week, I shall be filming my new Online Personal Training videos ready for launch in June. (Excitement #1) The videos will be suitable for a wide audience and in particular beginners who struggle to find time to exercise and want something to do at home with my help in motivating and getting the right technique. I'm hoping that the Online PT service will help a good few people before the start of the Olympics and those people will therefore count towards my Fitness 10,000 Challenge. Longer-term, I'm expecting this service to attract hundreds of people who want a low-cost and convenient way to get fit with my expertise as a bonus. Watch this space for more details.
Excitement #2 - this week, I have been given the go ahead by Guinness World Records to organise an attempt to break the World Record for the most number of people bouncing on mini-trampolines! If I hadn't already mentioned this it was because I didn't want to get too excited only to be told that they didn't want us to attempt the record. I found out on Monday that the current record is 287 so we shall be aiming for 500 bouncers to take part in the event held at Loughborough University on July 3rd as part of the Olympic Torch Relay celebrations. The day is going to be a super busy one for me as I shall also be leading an aerobics style routine to 2000 local school children at the University's new Holywell Stadium as the Olympic Torch is passed around the pitch. Upto 2500 people will be added to my Fitness 10,000 Challenge that day which means that I only have another 1000 or so people to find before the Olympics! I am super excited and can't wait to get planning the event this week - watch this space for more info. If you would like to take part please sign up on the Facebook event page here.
Excitement #3 doesn't really help my challenge as such, but it may inspire you to take up a new challenge this spring/summer. I have decided to take on the Boddington Marathon in Gloucester on July 1st. This marathon is a 12 lap course around a scenic park and strangely I am really looking forward to it! I have some new trainers to help see me through the increase in mileage and a positive attitude to help get me up early in the morning so I think I'm good to go! Training has actually already started and shall continue tomorrow with a 14-mile steady run.
Next week, I have a new afterschool bounce club for children and a bounce class for teachers/local residents launching at Sutton Bonington Primary on Tuesday - lots of people already signed up for both groups so I'm sure it will be a huge success. The Loughborough Running Group continues with the return of interval training! The group members were telling me how they secretly love these fast sessions and how much they benefit from doing them, so I feel less guilty about shouting at them now! Finally, lots of PT sessions and my usual Loughborough & Newtown Linford classes.
I think that's about it for this week. To keep updated on all the latest news and goings on - sign up for the onesixeight: fitness monthly newsletter here
Until next weekend - have a good week and keep bouncing!
