Last year, I set myself this huge goal of helping 10,000 people to get fit in time for the London 2012 Olympics. People laughed at me, my parents asked if I'd lost the plot and no one even considered I would seriously attempt the challenge. But here we are, months later and I'm now seriously about to start achieving this goal!
Today it is exactly 10 months until the start of the Olympics and I can tell you that I have so far reached out to 2002 people!! Which means that I have achieved over 20% of my target without really even trying. There's still another 8,000 people out there for me to help (and many more I'm sure!) so there's still plenty of hard work to do.
Each week I shall give you an insight as to how I am getting on, who I have helped in that week and my plans for reaching the 10,000 mark – any suggestions would be gratefully received!
So, the journey so far… I’ve reached out to people via Twitter with useful facts and tips about fitness, food and fun. I’ve also interacted with people via Facebook and LinkedIn, plus my YouTube videos have been a great resource for showing people new workouts and exercises to do on their mini-trampolines at home. Alongside that, I have sold hundreds of my Bounce-Back into Shape DVD, which has received great reviews from customers all around the world!
Over the past few weeks alone I have seen personal training clients in Loughborough and Leicester, bounced with ladies at my mini-trampoline fitness classes in Loughborough and I have also promoted my exercise podcasts available to download for free from www.onesixeightfitness.com/training-podcasts
Next week, the onesixeight: fitness monthly newsletter is sent out to the opt-in mailing list (you can sign up via www.onesixeightfitness.com) and I shall be starting some new group fitness classes in and around Loughborough very soon!
