It has been too long since I last updated! I have been in a very busy period for the past few weeks and now just about getting caught up. The good thing about being extra extra busy is that I am helping more and more people to get fit. And on that note (I'll cut straight to the chase) I am pleased to announce that on Wednesday of this week I managed to achieve my Fitness 10,000 goal!! On Monday, I totalled up the count so far - adding in the 2000 school children who I entertained with my own game called 'Bouncing Becky Says' at the Torch Relay celebrations at Loughborough University and the 300 people who participated in my mini-trampoline world record Bounce-athon event that very same day. That took me to 9,902 so I just needed 98 more people and sure enough I was leading a school Bounce-athon this week on behalf of Miller Homes in Bedford where there were 200 children taking part so I DID IT!!!
I am very pleased to have achieved my goal (with 2 weeks to spare!) and it proves that you can do anything when you put your mind to it! Thank you to all those who have helped me organise events, attended my classes or booked training sessions with me... you are all superstars and I enjoy working with each and every one of you!
Here's to a great London 2012 Olympics and I'm sure by the time I come back from volunteering at the Aquatics centre I shall have a new goal for me to work towards. Watch this space!

Would you like to help break a World Record?... Let's get bouncing!
Good afternoon! I hope you have all had a great week and have done lots of exercise and enjoyed the odd sunny days we've had this week. More to come next week apparently - fingers crossed!
This week has been another busy working week with lots of tough sessions for personal training clients in Loughborough. I was due to lead a Bounce-athon at Elizabeth Woodville Primary yesterday, however, the event had to be cancelled at last minute so I haven't added to my Fitness 10,000 count this week. I do need to get moving on this as there's only 2 months to reach my target!!
Yesterday, I met with Loughborough University to discuss plans for the World Record Attempt taking place as part of the University's Olympic Torch Relay celebrations. I must say, I am super excited about the event and we are due to officially launch it within the next few weeks. More info can be found here. I'm especially looking for people who own a mini-trampoline already and would either like to either come and bounce themselves or donate the trampoline to the event and help break the World Record for the most people bouncing at one time in one location. Please get in touch asap if you can help!
Next week is a fairly straight forward week again with personal training sessions, group classes and behind the scenes work on my new Online Personal Training service which will be launched next month. Find out more information here
That's all from me this week. I shall report back in a couple of weeks when I have added to my Fitness 10,000 count. I shall work hard to add at least 100 people over the next couple of weeks - promise!
Til next time, keep bouncing!

The sun is shining in Loughborough - time to get active!
Good afternoon! I hope you are having a great day and have had a very productive week so far. Today, the sun is shining and it's nice and warm outside so it's the perfect opportunity to get out in the fresh air and do some exercise. If the weather stays nice over the weekend you could go out for a cycle ride, a walk along the beach or local park. There's lots you can do to be active outdoors and even if the weather changes you can still be active indoors with a fitness DVD (such as my Bounce-Back into Shape DVD available on Amazon!).
This week, my personal training clients have impressed me with their progress and dedication to achieving their fitness and weight-loss goals. Great achievements such as 19 mile cycle rides, 4 mile runs, new eating plans, early morning sessions and much more. Well done to them all and long may it continue!
My week has been jam packed and next week shall be very similar. I have a new client starting on Monday, picking my Olympic Gamesmaker kit up on Wednesday in London and Friday is Elizabeth Woodville Primary School's Bounce-athon plus usual mix of PT clients and group classes.
Have a fab week everyone - enjoy the warm sunshine while it lasts!

Bouncing can help increase girls participation in sport
This week has been the usual mix of personal training clients and group sessions to keep me busy. I've also made great progress with writing content for the new Online Personal Training service that will shall launch next month. I've already had lots of interest from new customers who think it will be just what they are after to keep them on the road to success with their weight loss and fitness goals.
In the news this week, a report by the Women's Sport & Fitness Foundation suggests that schools aren't doing enough to engage girls in P.E. At my school the girls did mostly netball, gymnastics, rounders, hockey and cross country. I didn't mind because I was (and still am) very competitive so traditional sports were good for me. There were, however, many other girls who often skipped P.E - usually faking an injury or illness - because they didn't enjoy the competitive sports or perhaps didn't want to get wet in the rain or mess up their hair. I know that's not the right attitude but it's a fact of life that most teen girls don't want to be seen looking anything less than perfect at school, so perhaps schools need to start thinking outside the box and offering alternative activities to try to engage with their target participants. Zumba has proven popular in some schools and I believe my bouncing classes could have the same positive influence on participation levels. Bouncing provides a challenging total body workout that is suitable for all ages and abilities, it's really versatile and most importantly it's fun! I have developed my own Olympic-themed programme of sessions for my afterschool bounce clubs and now would like to extend this to P.E lessons. If you have any P.E coordinator contacts in the Loughborough/Leicestershire area then please do get in touch!
Finally, this week I have made the decision NOT to move to London this Summer after months of thinking I would set up onesixeight: fitness in the city. Due to not having found a replacement for me here in Loughborough and not wanting to let clients down, I decided that I want to stay in Loughborough and build on the success I've had over the past 2 years. I'm really happy with my decision and I know it's the right one for the moment. I shall still, however, be taking a short break in London to volunteer at the Olympics and Paralympics and I'll know more when they finally tell me my shifts!!
Make use of the bank holiday to fit an extra exercise session in - I shall be working so you can always book a personal training session if your gym is closed!
Have a good 4-day week and fingers crossed no more rain!

World Record Bounce-athon plans move forward
This week has been a super busy week (as always!) with lots of personal training sessions - bouncing and running - and some group classes too including a Rainbow Guides session earlier today which was great fun with 15 young girls. The Fitness 10,000 Challenge numbers haven't increased greatly this week. I did, however, have a meeting at Loughborough University to discuss the World Record Bounce-athon planned for July 3rd - the day of the Olympic Torch passing through the town and campus. We have decided to source 300 mini-trampolines (from where I'm not yet sure!) and sell tickets to the event and bouncers will get to take their trampoline home with them after the event - plus one of my Bounce-Back into Shape DVDs too! So next week, I shall be busy trying to source these trampolines, planning the event in more detail and spreading the word to local people. You can find out more information here.
Two new afterschool clubs start next week at Robert Bakewell Primary School and Redlands Primary in Sileby so they will be great fun, plus more personal training sessions and the regular Loughborough Bounce Class on Thursdays at Charnwood Golf Range 7pm. Book online here
Enjoy your week and remember to keep bouncing!

Client Success Stories in Loughborough this week!
This week has been a VERY busy one and perhaps more tiring than usual. I started my week with 2 days of filming new fitness videos for my new online personal training service which is due to be launched in June. After several hours of filming back to back fitness workouts I was shattered and that was just after day 1. I then had 3 back to back PT sessions to do and then thankfully an early night before I had to do the same again on Tuesday. All in all though, I enjoyed being in front of the camera and ticking this off my to-do list for the new project which aims to help hundreds of people nationwide get fit with my ongoing support. Tuesday, we completed filming and in the afternoon I started the new Sutton Bonington Primary School afterschool Bounce club with 15 excited children, followed by the Sutton Bonington Primary School staff Bounce Class with 15 excited teachers! Both classes went really well and will continue every week now during term time.
The rest of the week has been filled with lots of personal training sessions with some new clients. Current PT clients have been seeing fantastic results as they enter in to their 2nd 6-week training programme. Some have also adopted new food plans with my help and have seen impressive weight and fat-loss. I'm really proud of all my clients who stick to their training programmes and food plans and it's those clients that see the best results. It also really makes me happy that I can offer them the advice that will help them achieve their results and be there to see the smiles on their faces when they achieve their goals. Long may the success stories continue!
I continue to work tomorrow, Saturday, with clients and meet potential clients who need my help. I am also working hard on a variety of different articles as content for the new online PT service. If there is a specific fitness or food topic you would like me to write about then please contact me and I shall do my best to cover it.
Next week will be similar to this week - lots of personal training, Bounce classes and a very important meeting to discuss the Bouncing World Record Attempt happening on 3rd July in Loughborough. I shall also continue my marathon training, which is so far going really well, by watching the London Marathon on Sunday and being inspired to run my longest run to date 16 miles later that afternoon.
Enjoy your week and let's hope the weather cheers up so we can get bouncing outside!

Bouncing Becky to organise World Record Breaking Olympic Bounce-athon
Good evening, all. I'm back from Kids Camp & suprisingly not too tired! I think a sensible daily routine of early morning run, kids camp and 8 hours sleep each night combined with a healthy diet helped me stay on top form for the 2 weeks. 100 children added to my Fitness 10,000 Challenge later and I'm glad to be back in the world of onesixeight: fitness.
Next week, I shall be filming my new Online Personal Training videos ready for launch in June. (Excitement #1) The videos will be suitable for a wide audience and in particular beginners who struggle to find time to exercise and want something to do at home with my help in motivating and getting the right technique. I'm hoping that the Online PT service will help a good few people before the start of the Olympics and those people will therefore count towards my Fitness 10,000 Challenge. Longer-term, I'm expecting this service to attract hundreds of people who want a low-cost and convenient way to get fit with my expertise as a bonus. Watch this space for more details.
Excitement #2 - this week, I have been given the go ahead by Guinness World Records to organise an attempt to break the World Record for the most number of people bouncing on mini-trampolines! If I hadn't already mentioned this it was because I didn't want to get too excited only to be told that they didn't want us to attempt the record. I found out on Monday that the current record is 287 so we shall be aiming for 500 bouncers to take part in the event held at Loughborough University on July 3rd as part of the Olympic Torch Relay celebrations. The day is going to be a super busy one for me as I shall also be leading an aerobics style routine to 2000 local school children at the University's new Holywell Stadium as the Olympic Torch is passed around the pitch. Upto 2500 people will be added to my Fitness 10,000 Challenge that day which means that I only have another 1000 or so people to find before the Olympics! I am super excited and can't wait to get planning the event this week - watch this space for more info. If you would like to take part please sign up on the Facebook event page here.
Excitement #3 doesn't really help my challenge as such, but it may inspire you to take up a new challenge this spring/summer. I have decided to take on the Boddington Marathon in Gloucester on July 1st. This marathon is a 12 lap course around a scenic park and strangely I am really looking forward to it! I have some new trainers to help see me through the increase in mileage and a positive attitude to help get me up early in the morning so I think I'm good to go! Training has actually already started and shall continue tomorrow with a 14-mile steady run.
Next week, I have a new afterschool bounce club for children and a bounce class for teachers/local residents launching at Sutton Bonington Primary on Tuesday - lots of people already signed up for both groups so I'm sure it will be a huge success. The Loughborough Running Group continues with the return of interval training! The group members were telling me how they secretly love these fast sessions and how much they benefit from doing them, so I feel less guilty about shouting at them now! Finally, lots of PT sessions and my usual Loughborough & Newtown Linford classes.
I think that's about it for this week. To keep updated on all the latest news and goings on - sign up for the onesixeight: fitness monthly newsletter here

Loughborough Half Marathon is a huge success for everyone!
Sunday saw the return of Loughborough Half Marathon. A combination of beautiful sunshine, streets lined with cheering supporters, over 500 excited runners ready to race and 8 months of intense preparations meant the day surpassed all expectations. My part in the race began several months a go when I agreed to sponsor the event in aid of local domestic abuse charity Living Without Abuse. I designed 2 training programmes that were available to download for free, recorded training podcasts, wrote a beginners guide to running a Half Marathon and since the start of the year I sent out weekly training newsletters to help all participants as well as leading a weekly running group in the build up to race day. Last Sunday, finally race day had arrived and I was keen to see all the hard work pay off - including my own training efforts. I had also agreed to lead the group warm up on stage which was a great way of getting everyone fired up and ready to race. The race began at 9am and 1 hour and 25 minutes later I was back at the Market Place having finished 1st female! Super impressed with my time (10 minutes quicker than the time I was hoping for and 12 minutes quicker than my last Half Marathon in October!) all my emotions got the better of me and the tears started. My fast finish ahead of 12 other Team 168 runners meant that I had time to get my breath back and welcome the other runners as they finished in personal best times. Overall, the day received a tremendous amount of feedback and many runners have already registered their interest for net year's race (you can do that here). I am so proud to have been involved in the organisation of the Loughborough Half and apparently I have to be involved again next year to defend my title of being the fastest female Half Marathon runner in Loughborough!
What a fantastic start to the week! My recovery included a busy Monday morning of Personal Training clients; a school Bounce-athon at Sutton Bonington on Tuesday which was fantastic in the sunshine; a day of school workshops hosted by Loughborough University on Wednesday with me talking about Sports Nutrition to over 100 Sports Scientists; a new Bounce session with Olympic swimmers Liam Tancock, Lizzie Simmonds, & co. and finally this morning a fab Bounce session with a group of Girl Guides in Loughborough. Call that recovery, ey?!
Next week is less busy busy, but probably more tiring than ever as I shall be leading the Easter holiday Kids Camp on behalf of Fit For Sport at Sutton-in-Ashfield's Lammas Leisure Centre. Then it's Easter weekend when I'll be personal training - helping clients burn off the chocolate eggs! - and back to Kids Camp on Tuesday for week 2.
I shall update again in a couple of weeks when I've recovered from Kids Camp. Finally, the total Fitness 10,000 count so far... Over 6,500 people!!

The Loughborough Half Marathon is taking place this Sunday - 600 runners to add to my challenge!
It's a lovely sunny day outside - how are you enjoying the sunshine? Will you go out for a bike ride this weekend or a jog tomorrow morning? Or perhaps you are doing the Loughborough Half on Sunday with Team 168? Either way, be sure to get outside and soak up some Vitamin D whilst you can!
The long-awaited return of the Loughborough Half is finally here and onesixeight: fitness, the official training provider for the 13.1 mile race, will be there to warm up participants, motivating runners all the way to the finish line and celebrating with them afterwards. I am so excited for race day and can't wait to see everyone's hard training efforts (including my own) come together for a great race. Over 600 runners will start and finish in the Loughborough Market Place - and all runners will count towards my Fitness 10,000 challenge. My warm up starts at 8.30am and the race starts at 9am. If you are local and not taking part, please come and cheer us on instead. You can view the route here. Remember the clocks go forward tomorrow (Saturday) night so don't be late!
This week has been another busy week. 2 days were spent bouncing with children at Robert Bakewell Primary School in Loughborough and Oxley Primary School in Shepshed. I really enjoyed the 'Bounce-athons' and loved working with over 500 children over the two days. I have another Bounce-athon booked for next week at Sutton Bonington Primary School and others in the pipeline. All the children I bounce with at these events will count towards my Fitness 10,000 Challenge.
Yesterday, I totalled up my Fitness 10,000 progress so far and I'm up to 6,340 people! Only 3,660 to go (in 4 months). The pressure is on, but I WILL achieve this goal.
Finally, earlier today, I featured on BBC Radio Leicester with presenter Sally Pepper talking about Marathon training. This is the 3rd time I have been invited to speak on Radio Leicester (twice today in fact!) and I do enjoy it. You can listen to my advice here (approx 75 minutes in). I have challenged Sally to train with me and Team 168 for the Loughborough Race For Life on June 24th so you can look forward to hearing more of me on Radio Leicester giving helpful training advice for novice runners.
That's about it from me this week. Remember to cheer us on in Loughborough on Sunday or via Twitter. Look out for next week's Loughborough Echo for full race results and of course come back and read my blog next weekend to see how we all got on.
Enjoy the sunshine :-)

Let's Get Bouncing!
This week has been another mad week! A couple of new clients made great starts to their fitness programmes this week and existing clients are also progressing well. One in particular even asked me to up her training intensity because she didn't like the moderate intensity toning exercises and wanted to go out and get sweaty! Good for her and long may it continue!
In other news, I bounced with the children of Hemington Primary School on Tuesday. The school is only small but the 50 or so children who took part will all count towards my fitness 10,000 challenge which is set to get a boost next week when I do 3 bounce-athons and then the Loughborough Half Marathon too! I'm estimating 1200 new people to add to my challenge which will bring my total to nearly 7,000!! Very exciting!
The Loughborough Half is only 10 days to go and I'm very excited for the day. I've trained really hard myself and I know that my group of runners have all trained really hard too - we did 10x Thorpe Hill intervals on Tuesday in preparation for race day which was dedication in itself. I'm aiming for 1 hour 35 minutes and would like to beat my personal best of 1 hour 37 minutes. If, however, I don't run as fast I had hoped to then it's not the end of the world and I will be helping others get round the course in their own personal best times.
Finally for this week. It seems the world has gone bouncing mad today! A record number of Bounce Back into Shape DVD sales via Amazon in the past 24 hours. I send out all order as soon as they are received so everyone can say LET'S GET BOUNCING!!
Enjoy your week :-)

Save the Date! - 3rd July - Olympic Torch, Loughborough
I am so excited and we haven't even started planning yet!... On Tuesday, I had a meeting with Anne Mumford at Loughborough University to discuss organising a mass participation fitness event to celebrate the Olympic Torch passing through Loughborough on July 3rd. Anne, had sent me an email last week to ask if I would be interested in lending my support to the event and I had rather excitedly telephoned her to tell her I had a similar plan in mind to hold a mass participation mini-trampoline Bounce-athon at the University on the exact same day and for the exact same reason. I couldn't believe the coincedence of it all (hence my over-ethusiastic phone call!).
The meeting went well and we have decided that yes, an event of some discription will take place in which I will lead a fitness activity of some form. The exact details will be discussed in more depth next month. In the mean time I have also applied to Guinness World Records for this event to turn in to a world record attempt for the most people bouncing on mini-trampolines at one time. I am aiming to have 200 people all on mini-trampolines at the same time (imagine that!) and perhaps even more people participating in the bouncing routine on the floor. Anne mentioned that she would be aiming to reach out to 2000 school children!! My Fitness 10,000 Challenge would be smashed! I can't wait to get planning!!
In other news, March is getting pretty booked up. I've taken on new Personal Training clients and I have the Loughborough Half at the end of the month. I have also booked 4 Bounce-athons (Hemington Primary, Robert Bakewell Primary, Oxley Primary and Sutton Bonington Primary) so they will be keeping me busy too!
I am aiming to have surpassed the 7000 mark by the end of the month which is great but I still need more people to help get fit ahead of the Olympics in July. Please do get in touch if your son or daughter's school (in the Loughborough area) would like to hold a school Bounce-athon. I have 3 or 4 schools that are in discussions with me so fingers crossed they all book.
Until next week, keep bouncing!

Bouncing in to Springtime
What a great start to March. This week has been another exciting week with lots of new plans, new clients and things just slotting in to place. Firstly, I have booked filming for my new 'Bounce for Beginners' DVD which will be available in the summer. I shall also be filming for a new project which I shall announce more details of perhaps next week. Secondly, I have confirmed another Bounce-athon event and have 3 more in the pipeline. 1 school has even signed up to host an after-school club from April onwards which is fantastic. I'm currently leading a netball after-school club at this school in Sutton Bonington and I'm sure the Bounce group will be even more popular. More information about the School Bounce-athon events can be found here
Thirdly, existing clients have made some fantastic progress since the start of the year. They are achieving weight loss goals, losing inches and beating their personal best times in training. Not only that, but they are enjoying the sessions and making exercise a regular part of their lifestyle - which is always my main aim with clients. Each personal training client counts towards my Fitness 10,000 challenge so I'm always on the look out for people who need my help. Programmes are usually 6 - 12 weeks in length and 1 - 3 sessions per week which makes the programme achievable and always shows great results. Find out more info here
In other news this week, I have submitted an application for a World Record Attempt! My claim is in anticipation of a mass participation Bounce-athon that I shall be organising in conjunction with Loughborough University. The event shall coincide with the Olympic Torch passing through Loughborough on July 3rd. I'm hopeful that Guinness World Records will see the potential of the event where I shall aim to have 200 people bouncing all at the same time. I shall invite local residents & clients to bring their trampettes to the event so we can have as many people participating as possible. I shall report more information on the event plans as we go along.
Yesterday, I was in London for part 2 of my Olympic Games Maker training. I found out yesterday that I shall be working behind the scenes at the Aquatics Centre assisting with the Press Operations. I am very excited to be involved with the Games and the opportunity to be at one of the best venues of the Games. I find out next month when I shall be working exactly but I know I shall be in London for 2 months for the Olympics and Paralympics. I realised yesterday that I shall definitely be needing lots of caffeine when I'm there - came back last night absolutely shattered even after just 1 day!! Or perhaps I'll be still buzzing from the elation of achieving my Fitness 10,000 goal and the mass Bounce-athon event that I'll manage without.
Next week, I shall be continuing the great start to the Spring with my own training for the Loughborough Half (which is only 3 weeks away!) and helping others with their training too. I will have my first article on the latest fitness trends printed in The Beacon magazine (out on Friday) and then I shall be helping deliver the magazine next weekend. I will also be bouncing with the group classes and personal training clients and perhaps some ViPR workouts in there too.
Enjoy your weekend and keep following @onesixeightfit on Twitter and Facebook as we've got lots of great tips for keeping active and healthy in the Spring.

New! Personal Training + Babysitting service
Hello bouncing peeps,
This week has been so very productive and uplifting. I have been working very hard on some plans that I can't say too much about right now, but they are very exciting and will hopefully help me smash my Fitness 10,000 target!! Today, I was bouncing ideas (excuse the pun) off my career and life coach Jana Schuberth which was just fantastic. She really is one of the most positive people I have in my life. You can find out more about Jana and her coaching services here.
What else have I been up to? Yesterday was the corporate wellbeing bounce class at Samworth Brothers in Leicester which was a huge success. Some of the staff forgot their kit on the day, but I didn't let them get away with not taking part - instead I just gave alternative exercises so they didn't rip their trousers!
I have launched a new Health & Fitness M.O.T service. I will visit you in the comfort of your own home to take measurements of blood pressure, weight, BMI, fat % etc. and discuss current lifestyle habits and set goals for the future. I shall then analyse the data and provide recommendations as to how you can improve your health & fitness with some simple small changes. The idea is that with this one session (and recommended check ups every 6 weeks) you will be motivated to implement the changes. You can find out more here or enquire about booking here.
Finally, this week I also got to experience babysitting whilst also trying to personal train a client of mine. Trust me, it wasn't easy but I guess I can add that to my CV as a new service I offer. I now have more admiration for new mums who juggle fitness and looking after the children!
Looking forward to more productivity and positivity next week and wish you the same.

Bouncing-back into Bounce
This week I have been leading a kids activity camp for Fit For Sport in Stratford during half term. I have worked for Fit For Sport for over 6 years now at various different venues. I love the company's ethos about getting kids active and teaching them about healthy eating. The camps are for ages 5-12 year olds so you always get a mixed group which makes it great fun but also very hard work and this week was no exception! Over the week, I lead sports, fitness and arts & crafts activities plus lots of fun games and even a Stratford Olympics with 25 children in attendance each day meaning I can add another 125 children to my Fitness 10,000 Challenge. I really enjoyed the camp but glad to be back in the swing of training adults again this morning and looking forward to getting back into Bounce next week. I have lots of sessions next week including a new corporate wellbeing class with staff at Samworth Brorthers in Leicester.
Have a great week.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
It's my birthday tomorrow and there's snow on the ground - that hasn't happened for a few years! Snow doesn't stop the bouncing fun though. Last weekend the snow came down quite heavy whilst I was in London on an Olympic volunteer training day. I did wonder if I'd get back for my busy Monday but I did, no problem, so I'm hoping this weekend won't be any worse.
So, this week has flown by yet again and I've been helping lots of people to start new fitness regimes. onesixeight: fitness specialises in exercise for beginners so I like to think I know how to help people go from not having done any exercise (or at least not done some for a while!) to get motivated and be regularly active. I have had a lot of success with my Bounce Fitness classes and personal training which is great for beginners because 1) it's fun 2) it's easy to get the hang of 3) it doesn't feel like exercise - but gets great results really quick. I add in other exercises such as boxing or toning exercises to give variety and keep beginners excited about their new fitness plan. I also regularly measure and report on their progress to help keep clients motivated - everyone likes to see that their hard work is paying off. Every new client I take on between now and the Olympics will count towards my Fitness 10,000 Challenge so I'm always on the look out for new clients who just need a help in getting started. Most clients work with me for 6-12 weeks before they feel they have got in to the routine of exercising regularly. Some clients need more sessions and some only need a once a month 'check-up'. onesixeight: fitness cater for all of these types of programmes and can work with you to devise a plan that suits your needs, schedule and help you achieve your fitness goals. For more information contact us here
This week I shall finish with my total so far. As of the end of January, I have helped 5,460 people to get fit!! Over half way there!!
Have a great week and let's keep bouncing (even if it is cold and snowy!)

Time flies when you're having fun bouncing!
The past week or so have just flown by and we are now in to the 2nd month of year. I'm enjoying 2012 so far and have lots more to look forward to over the coming months. I hope you are all making progress towards your goals for the year - especially your fitness and health goals. Keep me posted on your progress!
Since I last posted a blog, we've had lots of new followers on the @onesixeightfit Twitter page - now up to 1,035 who each count towards the Fitness 10,000 challenge. I've also booked in 2 Bounce-athons for March - hundreds of children will be taking part!- and have another 2 or 3 schools already interested in booking. I am offering the school Bounce-athons for FREE during February & March so please do get in touch if your school (in the Loughborough area) would like to get involved.
I have also arranged some Bounce Fitness sessions with Leicester based food manufacturer, Samworth Brothers, to help get their employees fit. They are taking part in Leicestershire & Rutland Sport's Workplace Challenge and thought it would be a good idea to encourage staff to be more active during their lunch break. I'm really looking forward to starting these sessions. Do you own a business in the East Midlands or work for a large organisation that could benefit from implementing a corporate fitness programme in the workplace? If so, onesixeight: fitness can help. Contact Becky to arrange a no obligation meeting to find out about our services.
And finally, a client success story... In just 6 months, one of my clients has gone from not being able to run for 30 seconds to successfully reaching her goal of running a 2.4 mile loop non-stop and in a great time of 27 minutes. I am very proud of her and she has put in a lot of hard work to get her to where she is now. Well done, Kate and long may her success continue in 2012! If you know someone in the Loughborough area who wants to start a new fitness plan and share similar success to my current clients - please direct them to my website http://www.onesixeightfitness.com/ to see how I can help.
This weekend I am going to London for part of my Olympic Games Maker training- I'm very excited! Next week I shall be starting my work at Samworth Brothers in Leicester, networking with the ladies at Women in Business Network Leicester North & advising students and staff at Loughborough University on how to be more healthy as part of their Healthy Living Week on campus, as well as lots of bouncing and running and some new ViPR sessions with personal training clients.
So, until next week - keep bouncing!

Bouncing Becky is back!
Hello bouncers!
This week has been a very productive week here at onesixeight: fitness HQ... Lots of plans for the future, new clients prospects and I started 2 more Bounce Fitness classes in Newtown Linford and Redlands Community School in Sileby (both Leicestershire). Both new classes were a success and will continue each week. The afterschool club was extremely popular and there is even a waiting list for the kids to sign up. I loved working with the kids and feel that the Bounce exercise and my instructing is a great way for them to enjoy exercising. The kids remembered 'Bouncing Becky' from the Bounce-athon event held in December so they were all really excitable and I wasn't half tired on Thursday night!!
I can add 60 people to my Fitness 10,000 list this week from all the classes. I can also add 650 participants from the Loughborough Half Marathon after sending my welcome email with lots of useful training tips for everyone. I shall be sending an email every week to keep participants updated with training schedule and also giving handy tips. Entries have now closed for this year's race but if you would like to register your interest for taking part in 2013 please email me
Lots to do this week. I'm loving this year so far and enjoying working with new clients and groups of people. I think Bounce is going to get bigger and bigger this year so I'm keeping up my good work spreading the word and helping people up and down the country and across the world to get fit and feel as great as I do when I'm exercising.
Take care everyone and keep bouncing!

Bounce-camp was a great success!
Last week was Bounce-camp and it was great! We exercised for 1 hour each morning at 6.30am in a park in Shepshed. The weather was wonderful (mild until Thursday and then frosty on Friday) with no rain which meant we didn't have to move the workout indoors and we got to enjoy the morning fresh air. The camp progressed using the same exercises each morning and increasing the duration on each exercise in a circuit. The exercises were: Core extension, Squats, Lunges, Core twists and Press ups with bouncing intervals in between. Videos for all of the exercises can be found on our YouTube page
Day 1: 30 seconds on each exercise
Day 2: 45 seconds
Day 3: 45 seconds with added resistance
Day 4: 60 seconds with added resistance
Day 5: 60 seconds with increased added resistance
We really enjoyed the camp and felt smug all day long for having done exercise before most people had even got up for work. Try it yourself one week if you want to feel bounced-back into shape or contact me to arrange your very own bounce-camp at home!
Last week was also a good week for making plans for Bounce-athons and beyond - so watch this space!
I shall be back next week for another update on how my Fitness 10,000 plans are going. In the mean time, let's keep bouncing!! :-)

Let the Fitness Detox commence!
Hello to all and Happy New Year!
It feels good to finally be in 2012 after talking about this exciting Olympic year for so long. I love January because everyone has so much more energy and it's a new start for us all. It's also my busiest month because a lot of people set New Year's resolutions to get fit and be more healthy. I'm here to help people achieve those goals, not just in January but throughout the year, but anyone setting goals for the NY may find my advice on Twitter especially useful.
Over the past week, I have been helping clients work off the festive indulgence at my Bounce classes and personal training sessions. I've written training programmes ahead of the Loughborough Half Marathon in March and also I've written a beginners guide to running a half marathon which will be available to download from the onesixeight: fitness website very soon.
On Tuesday, we started the Team 168 group training sessions for those taking part in the Loughborough Half. The group is suitable for everyone, but especially good for beginners because we don't run too fast or for too long! If you want to come along please book here or to find out more click here
Well done to Glenda from Leicester who won the 12 Days of Fitness Challenge with a fantastic score of 280! She admitted that my Bounce-Back into Shape DVD helped her score so highly and she can see and feel the benefits after just 1 month of bouncing in her living room. The 12 Days of Fitness Challenge videos are still available on YouTube if you want to find some simple exercises to help you be more active in 2012.
Next week, is Bounce-camp week! I'm really excited for the 6am starts and can't wait to get outdoors with clients at the new Shepshed venue. The hour-long sessions provide a fun and energising start to the day and help you bounce-back into shape after Christmas. It's the equivalent of a fitness detox! I shall let you know how it goes next week. I'm also giving a presentation to a group of ladies about goal setting for the year and meeting to discuss progress with the Loughborough Half organisers.
Stay in touch via Twitter or Facebook and here's to a great 2nd week of January :-)
